Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal

from Hymnal Praise by CaptainMark

/

about

My finished recording of a traditional hymn as arranged by Alice Parker. Basically just singing practice for me. This song has sentimental value to me because I sang it with about 200 awesome people in the National Cathedral. I sang all four parts myself, and the only effect added is some reverb for professional sound. No octaving involved. Thank you for listening.

lyrics

1. Hark, I hear the harps eternal
Ringing on the farther shore,
As I near those swollen waters
With their deep and solemn roar.

Refrain:
Hallelujah, hallelujah,
Hallelujah, praise the lamb!
Hallelujah, hallelujah,
Glory to the great I AM!

2. And my soul, tho’ stain’d with sorrow,
Fading as the light of day,
Passes swiftly o’er those waters,
To the city far away.

Refrain

3. Souls have cross’d before me, saintly,
To that land of perfect rest;
And I hear them singing faintly
In the mansions of the blest.

My name is Mark Turner, I'm a 17-year-old homeschooler who likes to sing. I'm also a bass in a local choir. I have a hymnal with SATB music in it. So I sing that. Enjoy!
